Each software is released under a license type that can be found on program pages as well as on search or category pages. Here are the most common license types:
Freeware
Meaning: The software is completely free to use, but its source code is not available.
Examples: Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Skype

Meaning: Free to use for a limited period.

Meaning: A limited version intended for demonstration purposes.

Paid
Meaning: A license must be purchased to use the software

Meaning: Basic features are free, while advanced features require payment.
